Lawyers representing some of the accused persons in the murder trial of Independent Broadcasting Authority – IBA Director General Guntila Muleya have asked the court not to admit CCTV footage allegedly showing how Mr. Muleya was trailed before his murder.
The footage is said to show Mr. Muleya being forced into a vehicle and moved from Mika Convention Centre to an unknown destination.
According to digital forensic analyst Nyambe Muyunda, the footage was extracted on July 24, 2024.
However, defence lawyer Friday Mulenga objected to the evidence, arguing that the witness is not competent to testify on the footage because he is not an expert and does not possess a postgraduate qualification in forensic science.
Mr. Mulenga cited the National Forensic Act No. 2 of 2020 in support of the objection.
The State is expected to respond to the objection tomorrow, May 11, 2026.
