Long queues have continued at the ongoing payout of partial pension by the National Pension Scheme Authority-NAPSA offices in Lusaka.

The slow pace of the process has resulted to calls for a decentralized system in order to decongest the current process thronged by scores of desperate Zambians in need of money.

Some people say they are made to spend the whole day without receiving their dues.

Since April 17, 2023 over 230 million kwacha has been paid to 6,177 beneficiaries, which is 20 percent of their pre-retirement pension.

President Hakainde Hichilema signed into law the National Pension Scheme Amendment Bill 2023, which enables eligible members to access 20 percent of their contributions before retirement.
