The Drug Enforcement Commission -DEC- has seized movable properties worth over K10 million, suspected to be proceeds of crime.

Among the properties forfeited are three Toyota Land Cruisers, an excavator, and a drum compactor.

DEC Director General Nason Banda has disclosed that the seized properties were acquired using tax payers money but kept for personal use.

Without disclosing the people behind the properties, Mr. Banda says the Commission has embarked on non – conviction based forfeitures because court processes are long and tedious.

Meanwhile, the Commission has disclosed that over 2 million dollars of counterfeit notes are on the market and the public should take precaution.

Mr. Banda says the Commission has arrested two Chingola based businessmen for possession of $311,700 counterfeit notes.
