The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has arrested eight suspects in a series of intelligence-led operations targeting illicit drug activities in the Northwestern and Western Provinces.
The operations resulted in the seizure of large quantities of cannabis, totaling more than 640 kilograms, as well as a firearm and ammunition.
In a statement, DEC Public Relations Officer Allan Tamba said the suspects were apprehended for various offenses, including unlawful cultivation of cannabis and trafficking in loose cannabis.
Mr. Tamba said the Commission remains committed to working with other law enforcement agencies and members of the public to curb drug-related crime, promote public safety, and support national development.
