DAKA CONFIRMED FIT AFTER GOAL CELEBRATION SCARE

.

Chipolopolo team doctor Wesley Ngongo has allayed fears over the fitness of striker Patson Daka, confirming that the forward is fully fit following his acrobatic goal celebration against Mali in Zambia’s opening AFCON match on Sunday.

Daka sparked concern after appearing to hit his head on the ground while performing his trademark somersault celebration, leading to online speculation of a possible neck injury.

However, Ngongo has dismissed those claims, stating that medical assessments found no cause for concern, conforming that Daka has been cleared to resume training as normal.

Meanwhile, veteran defender Stoppila Sunzu, who missed the match due to illness, has fully recovered and rejoined the squad.

Ngongo also revealed that minor knocks sustained by Lameck Banda, Miguel Chaiwa, and Lubambo Musonda during the Mali encounter were assessed as non-serious, further declaring all three players fit and available for training.

Zambia now turns focus to Friday’s Group clash against Comoros, with the squad reporting no major injury concerns.
