The body of a five month old baby who was attacked by a crocodile while it was on the mother’s back is still missing on Lake Kariba.
Gwembe District Commissioner Killion Chikandula explains to Diamond News that after the attack by the reptile on Tuesday between 06 and 8 hours, the community members in Kkole Ward managed to retrieve the infant’s mother’s body.
42-year-old Martha Mazila Mponisi was attacked by the reptile while at the Lake.
The DC suspects the baby to have been eaten by the crocodile.
And Mr. Chikandula has expressed concern on the number of cattle being killed by crocodiles, which go to drink water on Lake Kariba.
