The Pretoria High Court is today, Monday, August 4, 2025, expected to deliver a final ruling on the burial site of former Zambian President Edgar Lungu.
The decision follows a legal suit filed by the Zambian government against the Lungu family, seeking the repatriation of Mr. Lungu’s body following his death in South Africa on June 5, 2025.
In this matter, the Lungu family has objected to having the former president buried in Zambia, expressing opposition to his funeral being presided over by his successor and current President, Hakainde Hichilema.
