The Lusaka High Court has set 29th June 2023 as date for judgement in the abduction case of 13 young women in Lusaka.

The date comes after High Court Judge Charles Kafunda heard testimonies of the victims during pre-sentencing trial which was held in camera.

In this matter, James Mulenga and Mathew Sikaonga admitted abducting 13 young women who they threatened with black magic if they attempted to escape captivity.

In a statement read in court, the victims narrated that the two attackers raped them in full view of other victims and forcefully injected them with family planning.

The victims further disclosed that they were physically assaulted, tied, put in a sacks and forced to drink alcohol.

One of the victims was abducted while two months pregnant in the company of her young daughter when she knocked off from work.

She disclosed that the assailants physically assaulted her and had carnal knowledge of her while her daughter watched.
