COSMAS MULENGA NAMED WORLD’S SECOND-BEST YOUNG SPORTS BROADCASTER FOR THE SECOND YEAR RUNNING

Zambia’s Multi Award-winning Sports Journalist, Cosmas Chongo Mulenga, has been named the 2025 AIPS World’s Second-Best Young Sports Broadcaster for the second consecutive year.
Mulenga first earned global recognition in 2024 when he was ranked the world’s second-best sports journalist in the Under-30 category. His inspiring story on the YASA Grannies was selected among the finest sports features worldwide.
This year, his compelling piece titled “She Fought with Men. She Fought the Odds. And She Won.” has secured second place in the Young Reporters Broadcasting Category at the ongoing AIPS Sport Media Awards in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Mulenga finished behind France’s Charlie Courrent, who topped the category, while journalists from Austria, Spain, and Germany completed behind Mulenga in the global top five.
Currently working for Diamond TV Zambia, Mulenga continues to raise the country’s profile on the international stage. He was named Zambia’s Best Sports Journalist (Broadcast) in 2024, recently won the 2026 Media Personality of the Year award, and was also recognized among the Top Three Overall African Journalists at the inaugural African Media Awards held in Ethiopia in December 2025.
