Zambia U17 National Girls Team are through to the finals of the U17 COSAFA Girls Championship after beating Malawi 3-1 on post-match penalties, following a 2-all draw score line in regulation time.
Jessy Zulu who captained the Zambian side today fired the Zambian side ahead 3 minutes after kickoff as Blessing Zangose Zulu doubled the lead in the 63rd minute.
Zambia’s defence was finally breached at this year’s tournament by Rose Kadzere who levelled matters with a brace at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe, Malawi.
Zambia U17 Girls Coach Naomi Phiri has congratulated the girls for the hard work they displayed on the pitch as she foresaw the game to be tight.
On the other hand, Malawi U17 Girls Coach Trevor Kajawa has described the loss to be painful but has praised his girls for their performance during the game.
