Zambia’s Vice President Mutale Nalumango has implored Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) member states to uphold peace and democracy for regional trade to thrive.
Speaking during the official opening of the 18th Committee Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Lusaka, Mrs. Nalumango stressed the need for meaningful economic development through trade.
And Mrs. Nalumango has applauded the strides made by COMESA to resolve conflict within the block affecting efficient trade among member states.
COMESA Secretary General Chileshe Kapwepwe noted that peace and security in the region are key drivers of trade facilitation and economic growth.
The Committee meeting for Ministers of Foreign Affairs will be preceded by the 16th COMESA Business Forum and the 22nd COMESA Heads of State and Government Summit.
