A 76-year-old woman has died after a bucket from a Dumper Truck hit her while collecting garbage at Chunga Dumpsite.
Police Public Relations Officer, Danny Mwale, has identified the deceased as Tikulileni Tembo of S.O.S near Chingwere turn-off.
Mr. Mwale explains that she was among other garbage collectors who rushed to the truck while the driver was in the process of dumping waste but unfortunately the elderly woman was struck and succumbed to fatal injuries.
He says the incident was reported by the driver, Yotam Banda, aged 23, of Garden Park on Monday April 10, 2023 around 16:00 hours.
The body of Ms.Tembo was deposited in the University Teaching Hospital-UTH mortuary awaiting Postmortem while an inquiry has been opened.
