10 out of 21 suspected cases of Cholera recorded in Vubwi District in Eastern Province have been confirmed while the rest have been subjected to more tests.
This takes the total number of cases recorded in the district since Thursday last week to 16.
Zambia National Public Health Institute Director Communication Information and Research, Mazyanga Mazaba Liwewe, says the results for the 11 suspected cholera patients will be known in about three to four days.
She says those admitted are stable and receiving treatment.
She has encouraged people to continue adhering to the preventive measures and accept to be vaccinated in areas where Oral Cholera vaccines are available.
Zambia recently confirmed the outbreak of Cholera in Vubwi district, which is believed to have been transmitted from Malawi, a country that has been battling the epidemic with over 30, 000 cases recorded as of late 2022.
