Former Cabinet Minister Dr. Chishimba Kambwili has been airlifted to Lusaka for medical treatment following a serious road traffic accident in Northern Province.

The accident occurred on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, around 5:45 PM in the Lubushi area, approximately 65 kilometers east of Luwingu Central Business District. Dr. Kambwili was traveling in a Toyota Hilux van when the vehicle was involved in a collision.

Tragically, two of Dr. Kambwili’s brothers, Mwamba and Mutale, lost their lives in the accident. The exact circumstances of the crash are still under investigation.

Dr. Kambwili’s injuries are believed to be serious, and he is currently receiving medical attention in Lusaka. Further details about his condition are expected to be released in due course.

The news of the accident has shocked the nation, and many Zambians are expressing their condolences to Dr. Kambwili and his family during this difficult time. The incident also serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for drivers to exercise caution on the roads.
