The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) says the men’s national team are focused on the games they have ahead and will not be pressured by the success of the women’s national team.

FAZ Communications Manager Sydney Mungala says the men’s national team should not feel pressured by the recent successes scored by the women’s national team but rather ensure they meet their set targets.

Last Sunday Bruce Mwape’s charges were crowned Champions of COSAFA for the first time in the history of the competition after beating South Africa 1-0.

The team has also qualified to the 2023 World Cup which will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

The men’s team will be away for two international friendly matches against Libya and Mali which will act as preps for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
