In an effort to combat cholera, the Chipata City Council has called for strict hygiene measures.

Chipata City Council Public Relations Officer, Edie Ngoma says public places remain hotspots despite major interventions by the local authority and the Ministry of Health.

In the last 24 hours, Chipata has recorded three new cases of cholera, with no deaths and two admitted to a cholera treatment center.

Chipata has a total of 61 cholera cases.
