A teenager of Chingola’s Mikiloni Compound is battling for his life after being stabbed in the stomach by a friend during a drinking spree.

Joe Kanyembo, 18 who is admitted to Nchanga North General Hospital was stabbed by his 20-year- old friend Nonde Simfukwe.

Information gathered by Diamond News reveals that the duo was having some drinks at a named bar when the suspect demanded that he be given beer by the victim but when the victim refused, the suspect got upset and slapped him on the mouth.

The two got into a fight which resulted in the suspect picking a bottle, breaking it before stabbing the victim in the stomach.

Kanyembo is said to have sustained a deep cut on the left side of the stomach.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewel Mweemba says the victim was rushed to Nchanga North General Hospital by members of the public and is receiving treatment and his condition is unstable.

Mr. Mweemba says a docket has since been opened and the suspect has been arrested. #NewsOnTheGo
