The ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) has changed its adopted candidate for the Chawama Constituency.
The party had on December 15, 2025, adopted Timothy Kantenga as its candidate.
However, the decision has since been rescinded, and Morgan Munda has now replaced Mr. Kantenga.
Speaking at a press briefing, UPND Chairperson in charge of Elections Garry Nkombo said that following further verification after the earlier pronouncement, it was established that Mr. Kantenga does not technically qualify to contest, as he is a new voter who only registered in the constituency in December this year.
