CDF WATER PROJECT FAILS TO ADDRESS MUKUNI WATER CRISIS

.

Despite being funded through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), a water reticulation project meant to benefit over 4,000 residents in Mukuni Central, Kazungula District, has failed to resolve the community’s water crisis.

The project, which was allocated K250,000 in 2022 to address the area’s persistent water shortages, has instead worsened the situation, leaving residents frustrated and demanding a thorough investigation into its failure.

Community members have expressed disappointment, citing a lack of tangible improvements since the project’s installation.

President Hakainde Hichilema has repeatedly emphasized his administration’s commitment to community service, raising concerns over why such projects continue to underperform.

Meanwhile, efforts to obtain a comment from Kazungula Council Secretary Lubinda Mwala were unsuccessful, as he was reportedly in a meeting.
