The Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested and charged Auditor General Dick Sichembe for corrupt practices involving over K1 million.
Dr. Sichembe, 52, of Lusaka has been charged with one count of obtaining Goods by False Pretenses and one count of Conspiracy to Defraud the Government.
He has also been charged for willful failure to follow applicable procedures contrary to Section 34 of the Anti-Corruption Act.
Dr. Sichembe has further been charged with one count of Theft by Servant.
Meanwhile, earlier Transparency International Zambia TIZ disclosed the Auditor General, Dick Sichembe is not immune to any investigation.
In an interview with Diamond News TIZ Chapter President, Sampa Kalungu, welcomed the decision by the Anti-Corruption Commission- ACC for having earlier summoned Dr. Sichembe, but warned that the matter must not be politically motivated.
