Mafinga Constituency lawmaker Robert Chabinga has urged Inspector General of Police Grapheal Musamba to arrest any individual holding meetings using the Patriotic Front Party without blessings from the party’s faction leader Miles Sampa.
Reacting to former President Edgar Lungu’s return to politics, Mr. Chabinga says the PF only have one legitimate leader in Miles Sampa and those wishing to return to the party must accept him.
Mr. Chabinga says the party has no faction leaders because Mr. Sampa is the duly registered office bearer of the PF.
Mr. Chabinga has however advised Mr. Lungu to start serving the party at ward level if he aspires to lead the party again.
On 28th October 2023, Mr. Lungu announced his return to active politics after his two-year retirement.
Meanwhile, Police Officers have denied the Edgar Lungu faction members from accessing the party’s Secretariat in Lusaka.
This led to police firing teargas to disperse the crowd that had gathered outside the premises.
