Rights Activist, Maiko Zulu, says it is against human rights to deny a person access to education because of his dreadlocks.
Mr. Zulu’s comments come after a grade 8 pupil in Kasama Northern Province was denied access to education because of his hairstyle.
And Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary, Joe Kamoki, is yet to comment on the matter.
The boy’s father, Nathan Mubanga has expressed sadness, that it has now been three weeks since his son was denied entry into grade eight at Kasama Boys Secondary School, as he continues to seek avenues to ensure his child is allowed.
