ACC RECORDS WARN-AND-CAUTION STATEMENT IN MUNDUBILE PROBE

.

The Anti-Corruption Commission has recorded a warn-and-caution statement from Tonse Alliance President Brian Mundubile, who is also Mporokoso Member of Parliament, following his appearance before the ACC.

Anti-Corruption Commission Acting Head Corporate Communications Chilufya Chisanga says that the development relates to investigations surrounding the awarding of a road contract valued at over K1.5 billion kwacha, covering Northern, Eastern, Western, and Central Provinces.

Meanwhile, Mundubile’s lawyer George Chisanga has defended his client, describing the probe as misplaced and questioning the timing of the investigations.

He says the matter, which dates back to 2015, had previously been subjected to a forensic audit that found no irregularities, maintaining that all payments corresponded to actual work done.

Mr Chisanga adds that his client fully cooperated with the commission and reiterated in his response that there were no outstanding issues, further suggesting that the renewed scrutiny may be linked to Mundubile’s recent political activities.
