The Millers Association of Zambia MAZ has disclosed that of the off-loaded quantity of mealie meal with aflatoxin on the market, about 10 percent was consumed by humans.
In an interview with Diamond News, Association President Andrew Chintala says this is because of the huge quantity of the products that have been withdrawn from the market.
According to Mr. Chintala, there is no contaminated Mealie-meal on the market.
Last week, the Government destroyed 3,288 bags of Mealie meal brands that were found containing Aflatoxin and 10 tonnes of dog food.
