Some University of Zambia (UNZA) retirees are demanding the immediate release of their terminal benefits.
The retirees who are still on payroll pending the release of their package say government is being wasteful by continuing to pay them monthly salaries despite being retired.
One of the retirees, Peter Mvula, has told Diamond News that some of his friends have died while waiting for their terminal benefits.
When contacted, Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary in-charge of Technical Services Joel Kamoko says his ministry will issue a statement at a later stage.
