Three High Court Judges are this Friday, September 16, 2022, expected to hear the Judicial Review by Director of Public Prosecutions Lillian Siyuni over the President’s refusal to grant her a waiver of the oath of office in respect to complaints lodged against her.
Her lawyer Abraham Mwansa says Ms. Siyuni is unable to respond to the allegations made against her because she has not been granted authority to do so.
Mr. Mwansa has, however, told Diamond News that his client is unwell and is not physically fit to appear before any tribunal or court until such a time that she is better.
He adds that the withdrawal of security from Ms. Siyuni by the State is unfortunate especially since it is part of her conditions of service.
Mr. Mwansa says the hearing of the matter before the Judicial Complaints Commission is dependent on the outcome of the High Court’s judicial review this Friday.
Activist Chama Fumba popularly known as Pilato is among the parties that filed the complaint before the JCC over alleged incompetence and gross misconduct by Ms. Siyuni.
