UPND EXPELS MEMBERS OVER INDISCIPLINE
The ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) has expelled two members over allegations of indiscipline.
The expelled members are Kebby Sikangila, a councillor for Kafue’s Chisankane Ward, and Frazer Moonde, a member of the party’s National Management Committee (NMC).
At a press briefing, UPND spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa said the two had been using social media to launch attacks against the party.
Mr. Mweetwa alleged that Mr. Sikangila had described the UPND as a “useless party,” while Mr. Moonde called on members to rise against the leadership.
Following the expulsion of Mr. Sikangila, the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has been informed and is expected to conduct a by-election in Chisankane Ward.
