FORMER NETBALL VICE CAPTAIN ORIENT MWANZA DIES AGED 29

Former Zambia National Netball Team Vice Captain Orient Mwanza has died at the age of 29.

Netball Zambia President Martha Lungu Sichone has confirmed the sad development, expressing deep sadness over the loss.

Mwanza passed away on Wednesday afternoon at Luwingu District Hospital after a brief illness.

Known as “Machine,” Orient’s last national team assignment was in April 2023, when she helped Zambia win bronze at the PacifAus Netball Series in Austria.

Mwanza later retired in August of the same year.
