Police in Lusaka have discovered the skeletal remains of a man in his home in Garden Luangwa Compound, leading to the arrest of the victim’s wife and children, who are currently in police custody.

According to eyewitnesses, the police were alerted by the victim’s brother, Emmanuel Kalaba, who had been concerned about his brother’s whereabouts for over a year.

Mr. Kalaba reported that his brother’s wife, Sylvia Mutoba Kalaba, had been preventing him and other family members from visiting.

In an interview with Diamond TV, the victim’s elder brother, Davis Kalaba, revealed that the deceased, George Kalaba, was a former Zanaco player who had retired from the club.

Police Public Relations Officer Rae Hamoonga confirmed the development, stating that officers from Garden Police Post responded to the report and found the house locked, with Sylvia Kalaba and her children inside.

Upon gaining entry, officers made the shocking discovery of the skeletal remains on a bed.

Mr. Hamoonga further disclosed that Sylvia Kalaba, 51, along with her children Natasha, 19, Sandra, 22, Wendi, 27, and a 15-year-old juvenile, have been arrested and are assisting police.
