Daughter of former President Edgar Lungu is requesting the Lusaka High Court to halt the forfeiture of her alleged assets by the state while she appeals a ruling against her.

Senior Investigations Officer Emmanuel Khondowe of the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has filed an affidavit opposing Chiyeso Lungu’s application, asserting that the contested properties were seized and under state control well before the recent court judgment.

Mr. Khondowe argues that Ms. Lungu has provided no proof of her interest in the assets in question, which include containers believed to hold items suspected as proceeds of crime.

He emphasized that the application lacks merit and urged the court to dismiss it, maintaining that the seized properties remain under investigation
