A devastating road accident has claimed the lives of three individuals and left four others critically injured in Lusaka’s Ibex Hill area. The incident involved a Toyota Hiace minibus, bearing registration number BAJ 3856, which veered off Mosi Road and overturned multiple times before coming to a halt against a wall fence.
Fatalities and Injuries
The University Teaching Hospital (UTH) Public Relations Officer, Nzeba Chanda, confirmed that three female victims were tragically pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Four additional individuals, including a pregnant woman, are currently undergoing treatment at UTH and are listed in critical condition.
Police Investigation
Police Public Relations Officer, Rae Hamoonga, has attributed the cause of the accident to excessive speed. Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver lost control of the vehicle due to the high speed, leading to the tragic outcome.
