Bishop John General, also known as Miracle Impact International Clergy John Nundwe, has appeared before the Lusaka Magistrate Court to face charges of rape. It is alleged that the bishop was paid a K1,000 consultation fee to attend to a married congregant for spiritual help, but instead proceeded to rape her.
The victim’s husband testified in court that after the accused prayed for his wife at his congregation and provided her with anointing oil and water, he informed them that he needed to come to their house to conduct further prayers. The alleged rape occurred during this visit.
Bishop John General has denied the allegations and is currently awaiting trial. The case is being heard before Magistrate Army Masoja.
