How can lives be saved without electricity?

This is the question asked by some frustrated residents of Kaunda Square Township in Lusaka, who wonder why a sensitive institution has no access even to alternative sources of energy such as a generator or solar equipment.

Diamond TV’s Victoria Kayeye Yambani visited the institution to get firsthand details of the silent struggle health workers of the center that endure long hours of loadshedding while attending to patients with various needs.

Findings reveal, staff are compelled to use unsafe candle light and torch lights from mobile phones that also need electricity to charge.

Residents demand that just like markets have been installed with generators, the same be done to health centers such as Kaunda Square Clinic.
