The defilement of a 14-year old pupil at Eastern Girls Technical School by a teacher has angered gender activists and civil society organizations in Eastern province.
Jairos Mtonga, 48 has been charged with the offence of defiling a minor.

Brief facts are that two pupils wanted help of a phone to communicate with their parents.
However, in the process of assisting one of the pupils with the phone, the 14-year-old was dragged into the office by Jairos Mtonga who later defiled her.
