Police in Chipata have detained one of the three wives of Petauke Central Member Of Parliament, Emmanuel Jay Banda, in relation to his disappearance.
According to Mr. Banda’s lawyer Kennedy Mambwe, police are yet to interrogate Mr. Banda’s two other wives on the matter.
The lawmaker escaped police and correctional service custody on August 4, 2024 from Chipata General Hospital where he was receiving medical treatment.
He is accused of alleged attempted murder and aggravated robbery charges.
Government claims Mr. Banda was aided by some people to escape, hence vows he will be found.
