A family of Mazabuka District has been left in shock after a male relative committed suicide after he was admonished by his father for squandering money meant for mealie meal on alcohol.
According to Southern Province Police Commissioner, Auxensio Daka says the deceased was sent to buy mealie meal but returned home late in the night in a drunken stupor, an issue that upset the man’s father.
Mr. Daka reveals that tragically after the man was confronted hours later, he was discovered in apparent suicide after he consumed a suspected pesticide.
