The National Prosecution Authority (NPA) has successfully secured the forfeiture of K 2. 1 million from a Zambian national, Shardreck Zulu.
This follows a Judgement by the Lusaka High Court on a forfeiture application by the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Gilbert Phiri.
In a statement, NPA Public Relations Officer, Chali Hambayi, says the said money was in Mr. Zulu’s account held with a premium banking institution.
Ms. Hambayi says investigations into the matter revealed that Mr. Zulu used a forged National Registration Card (NRC) to open the account and received funds from the Cayman Islands.
According to Ms. Hambayi, Mr. Zulu declined to respond during interrogations and did not contest a forfeiture application.
