Residents of Livingstone in Southern Province have again staged a protest against a loss of human life caused by human-animal conflict.

The death of a man only identified as Nchimunya sparked a protest in the tourist capital with irate residents calling for the resignation of Tourism Minister Rodney Sikumba.

It took gunshots fired in the air to calm the emotionally charged residents who were seen stoning vehicles belonging to the national parks and wildlife.

The body of the deceased was discovered in the early hours of today, in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, where a stray elephant is believed to have dismembered it.

The remains of the deceased have since been picked by the Authorities who are yet to issue an official statement on the matter.

Since May 2023, eight (8) people have been killed by Elephants in Livingstone and Kazungula.
