Two siblings have been torched to death by a bushfire in Shiwangandu district.

The two; aged 14 and 22 of Pasikale village in Chief mukungule’s Chiefdom, met their fate when they tried to divert the bushfire that was approaching their home.

It is believed that the two got choked when they decided to hide in a banana plantation where the plants caught fire and burnt the siblings to death.

Police Deputy commanding officer, Ronald Zambo, confirmed the development to Diamond news in a statement.

The bodies of the two, identified as Justina Chewe and Tracky Chewe, have been retrieved and handed over to the family for burial.
