Two women from a polygamous marriage have died, while one has sustained injuries after a landslide as they were mining Tin in Masuku of Choma District, Southern Province.

The deceased women have been identified as Ginita Sianjani, 37 and Matildah Sinamweemba, 40, all of Mucukwa Area.

The bodies of the deceased were retrieved and have since been deposited at Choma General Hospital mortuary.

The survivor has been identified as Moment Mwiinde, 43, who sustained a deep cut and is in stable condition at the Choma General Hospital.

According to Southern Police, the trio were among other illegal miners who went to Masuku to mine Tin when they met their fate after being trapped in a ditch by a pile of sand.
