The Women Movement in Zambia has disclosed that it will sue the State for compensation for its negligence in the manner in which it handled the abduction of 13 young women.

Non-Government Organization Coordinating Council (NGOCC) Chairperson, Grace Sinkamba says the victims of the abduction have to be compensated for the traumatic experience.

Ms. Sinkamba says the abduction exposed the weaknesses in Zambia’s security system.

The stakeholders further argue, families of the victims say the young are still grappling with trauma following the gruesome ordeals they were subjected to for several months.

On Thursday, High Court Judge Charles Kafunda sentenced James Mulenga and Matthew Sikaonga to life imprisonment for the abduction of 13 women in Lusaka.
