The controversial Royal Diagnostic Laboratory Services at the University Teaching Hospital has closed down after years of operation.
There has been public concern over the private entity which was operating within the public hospital.
A check by Diamond News found several patients turned away with a notice of closure.
Pharmaceutical Society of Zambia Vice President Samuel Muyunda says the move is long overdue.
Mr. Muyunda this will not only create fair play in the industry but also give the public hospital an opportunity to improve on its operations.
