Senior Chief Mukumbi of the Kaonde Speaking People in Kalumbila District has died, following an illness.
He had been on the throne since 1961.
Mukumbi Royal Establishment spokesperson, Douglas Mukumbi Muluka announced the death of the Senior Chief in Solwezi.

The Kufukwila Annual Traditional Ceremony which was supposed to be held on the 27th May 2023 has been postponed to a later date.
Senior Chief Mukumbi the 15th Beston Muluka was born in 1932 and died on the 23 of May 2023.
