Hunger is looming in Itezhi Tezhi District, under Chieftainess Muwezwa in Southern Zambia, following poor harvest as a result of floods experienced in the last rainy season.
Chieftainess Muwezwa of the Ila speaking people says her people risk starving if no aid will come forth.
The traditional leader has since called for food relief from government.
Heavy rains and flash floods caused damage to crops, homes and livelihoods in the country in January 2023.
