North Western Province Minister Robert Lihefu says mealie meal smuggling has been contained in the eleven districts of the province.
Mr. Lihefu says the provincial administration will continue collaborating with military personnel deployed in strategic routes used for smuggling mealie meal into Congo DR.
He adds that the anti-smuggling task force has also played a huge role in ensuring stable supply of the staple crop.
Meanwhile, a check by Diamond News in some chain stores in Solwezi found a 25 kg breakfast mealie meal selling at 210 kwacha and 25 kg roller meal selling at 180 kwacha.
