A 32-year-old woman of Teta area in Serenje District of Central Province identified as Christabel Mukosha has allegedly been murdered by her 25-year-old biological brother identified as Abel Mukosha.
Central Province Police Commissioner David Chileshe has confirmed the incident to Diamond News saying the incident happened on 3rd May 2023 around 10:00 as the victim was drawing water from a well in Teta area when the brother followed her and hit her with a pestle on the head.
Mr. Chileshe adds that the deceased sustained fatal head injuries and died on the spot.
He further adds that the suspect is a mental patient and that on the fateful day, members of the public apprehended the suspect and handed him to police.
The body of the deceased has been deposited into Serenje District Hospital awaiting post-mortem and burial.
