United Capital Fertilizer has broken ground for the construction of a 595 million dollars urea fertilizer plant.
Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony, President Hakainde Hichilema hailed the plant saying it will make fertilizer affordable for Zambian farmers.
President Hichilema adds that once completed, the state-of-the-art plant will enhance crop production in the agriculture sector.
Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Du Xiaohui says the plant will reduce the cost of doing business in the agriculture sector.
