Secondary School Teachers Union of Zambia (SESTUZ) has welcomed the amendment of National Pension Scheme Authority which allows partial withdrawal of payments.

SESTUZ General Secretary, Sitibekiso Wamuyuwa says the new law gives civil servants an opportunity to plan for their retirement.

Mr. Wamuyuwa has however cautioned Civil servants against misusing their benefits as they risk becoming destitute after retirement.

The new NAPSA law allows persons who have contributed for five years to claim for 20 percent of their pension regardless of age.
