The Ministry of Health has declared an end to Cholera in four out of the eight affected districts in the country.

The four districts are Mwansabombwe, Chipata, Vubwi and Lusangazi .

Minister of Health, Sylvia Masebo, who disclosed this at a media briefing in Lusaka, says it has been 15 days since the said areas recorded Cholera cases.

Ms. Masebo says the outbreak has been contained due to the robust effective response by the multisectoral team.

She says measures to contain the disease will continue for the remaining districts namely Chipangali, Nsama, Nchelenge and Mpulungu.

The Ministry of Health declared an outbreak of Cholera on the 21st of January 2023 and since then, the country has recorded a total of 319 cases and 8 deaths.
