Economic Freedom Fighters Leader, Kasonde Mwenda, has presented what he is calling as evidence of alleged corruption in the UPND government.
Mr Mwenda has cited alleged corruption from a deal in which Alpha Commodities was awarded a contract worth eight hundred and fifty-three million, three hundred and thirty-seven thousand, three hundred and seventy-six Kwacha (K853, 337, 376) to supply urea and D compound fertilizer.
He adds that the evaluation report dated 29th October 2021, shows that government is allegedly being extorted through over pricing, that it is aware of.
He further contends that because of the gravity of the alleged corruption scandal he has been compelled to report the matter to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for the investigative wing to take up the case.
But Minister of Agriculture Reuben Mtolo Phiri says he is not aware of the alleged corruption scandal and will respond once he is availed information.
Meanwhile, efforts to get Alpha Commodities proved futile as contact mobile phone numbers went unanswered.
